Description
Reuben Harmon, Jr. of Rupert, Vermont, designed this coin which some thought to be the most original, creative, & authentic American design found on our Colonial coins.
Some coins in the series portrayed George III but, the best known by far was the VERMONT coin known as “Plough money”. The front depicts a farm plow in a field against a back- ground of tree-laden mountains with the sun rising to greet the new day.
