Description
This coin is from Gela, Sicily & bears the River God, Gelas, the Bull with a bearded human face on the obverse. The reverse shows a two- horse chariot with Nike flying overhead, crowning the horses & a Charioteer walking. The human headed bull, which is one of the earliest Rhegine coins, probably represents the small streams falling into the sea near Rhegium.
